Cornel Olari graduated from Arizona State University School of Architecture and Design, Tempe, Arizona, with a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1999. His professional career started in 1998 as a brief internship working for CornoyerHedrick, or Davis as it is known today. At CornoyerHedrick he worked on a vast variety of projects like office buildings, hotels, medical centers, hospitals, surgery centers and senior living facilities. Most notable projects are Chandler Regional Hospital Emergency Center Addition, Marriott Hotel in Fremont, California, Esplanade Condominiums, Classic Senior Residence by Marriott, and Kierland Commons Office Building.
 

In 1999 he began his professional career in Phoenix, Arizona, working for the Arrington Watkins Architects. At Arrington Watkins Architects, Cornel was introduced to more project types like court houses, jails, prisons, community centers, fire stations, medical facilities, custom homes, maintenance facility. Most notable project that Cornel has been involved in are Phoenix Fire Station 56 and 62, Federal Bureau of Prisons Tucson II, High Desert State Prison in Nevada, Maricopa County Court House East Valley, City of Glendale Maintenance Facility, , City of Phoenix Police Driving Track, SRP/MRC Indian Community Transitional Services Building, and Friendship Village Senior Living Addition/Remodeling.


With fourteen years of professional experience in the discipline of architecture Cornel brings a great variety of expertise to any project type. He has worked intensely on various commercial projects ranging from speculative office buildings and multi-family housing projects to user specific facilities, assisted living centers and institutional-type projects.

 

In 2004 Cornel decided to form ocStudio LLC, an architectural consulting firm focusing on complete project design and management. At ocStudio, Cornel has directly managed the design, detailing, engineering coordination, and permitting process of over $80 million worth of projects. Projects ranging from single family custom residences to multi-family condominium projects, shopping centers, office buildings, auto dealerships, restaurants, medical offices, charter schools, assisted living facilities, and auto repair facilities. Most notable of these projects are Lund Cadillac Hummer Saab in Glendale, Scottsdale and Chandler, Parkwood Assisted Living, Grand Village Phase V, 23rd Ave Lofts, Dorsey Place Condominium, Perry Place Condominium, Astoria Assisted Living Center, and Tuscany Estates Senior Care Center.
 

While directing a multitude of commercial projects, Cornel has also designed, detailed, and permitted a variety of custom residential projects which have helped recognize Cornel as one of the elite architectural designers of custom residences in the community. He possesses exemplary skills at maneuvering the difficult and complex problems of the valley’s challenging permitting authorities.
